Half Day in the Life | Family Photography in Woolwich, London

These parents really embraced the idea of a half day in the life session, documenting a typical Saturday morning just enjoying the natural flow of things with their gorgeous 13-month old son.

I arrived just as little one was sitting down to a hearty breakfast of beans and toast. It was lovely to see him enthusiastically tuck in and even share a few left overs with mum! After breakfast, it was time to get dressed, but not without a bit of bathroom exploration and excavation first.

Rugged up and ready for the cool Autumn morning, it was time for a stroll down by the river where little one enjoyed practicing his new walking skills. All that fresh air made for a tired little traveller, so after getting back home, it was nap time in the buggy while mum and dad enjoyed a coffee.

Rough and tumble with daddy, including a game of who could crawl the fastest, came after a bit of refuelling. After a couple of gentle family portraits (which I always offer) it was time for stories and snuggle and for me to say my goodbyes.

It was such a relaxed morning and a real pleasure to photograph this family as the moments unfolded naturally. My hope is that when they look back on these photographs, they’re reminded of the joy in seeing their son’s little personality really start to develop, along with his love of eating (and sharing) a home-cooked meal!
