Moments Between the Milestones | Half Day in the Life | Documentary Family Photography Carshalton

When we think about hiring a professional family photographer, it’s often because something special is happening - the arrival of a new family member, a christening, a milestone birthday - and I definitely believe we should invest in these occasions. I also know that it’s important to document our ordinary, everyday family life because those moments often tell more of our family story, are fleeting, and as time goes by, memories tend to fade. Photographs have the unique ability to transport us back to a specific time and place, reigniting the emotions and connections that were felt. We can create a tangible visual record that can be revisited and shared with future generations.

Last month I had the pleasure of spending a Saturday morning with this lovely family of five at their home in Carshalton, London. As with all my documentary family photography sessions, nothing was planned or directed, which meant everyone could just relax and enjoy their usual Saturday morning activities. My hope is that I’ve given this family photographs which hold real meaning and will be cherished in years to come.
