Documentary newborn photographer in South London

Those first few weeks after baby arrives are some of the most precious and intense moments your family will ever experience. It’s a time filled with all sorts of emotion and can pass by in a bit of blur. My aim is to capture it all - the elation, the exhaustion and everything in between.

I take a documentary approach to family photography because life with a newborn is about much more than just your baby. It’s about the routines you’re creating and the beginning of new relationships.

The quiet moments and the louder ones.

I want you to have a collection of photographs that remind you not just of how you all looked, but of what it felt like to welcome a tiny human into your family.

Michaela, these photos are absolutely incredible! You have exceeded our expectations. They are so beautiful and you really captured the moment. They are timeless.

Choose your newborn and baby photography experience

When you look back on this new beginning in your family history, what are the details and moments you want to remember most? What will you miss most about this season? Do your older children (or your partner) need a little more time to get used to having me around? Keep these questions front of mind when choosing your newborn photography experience.

Half Day in the Life

4-5 hours

A morning or afternoon in your home, or wherever you feel like going; a stroll to the park, snuggles with older siblings, feeding, bath time, or just relaxing.

Half day newborn sessions allow plenty of time to capture the real experience of life with your newest family member.

I highly recommend this session length for families with older siblings. Having some extra time gives everyone a chance to relax and for me to capture more natural interactions and moments.

£250

Slice of Life

1.5-2 hours

A short session in your home with time to capture some gently directed portraits of you and your baby focusing on the love, connection and details.

Perfect for first time parents.

£150

The session fee covers my time and talent only and does not include any printed products or digital images. You can purchase what you love after your session.

How it all works

1. BOOKING AND CONSULTATION

After you first get in touch, I'll contact you to arrange a chat, pencil in your due date and ideal session date, and send over the booking information. When your contract is signed, and your session fee paid, you're booked in.

Once your baby arrives, we'll be in touch again to confirm the date and time of your shoot. We’ll also discuss the flow of the session, how you and your family are feeling, and whether you would like to include some gently directed portraits.

2. your session

My newborn sessions are very relaxed and led by the needs of your baby and family. I’ll take a few portraits of you and your newborn if you wish but the main focus will be capturing completely natural moments.

You won’t need to go on a cleaning frenzy or pick out special outfits - the more normal you and your surroundings appear, the more authentic your photos will be. It's all very relaxed and geared around how you, your baby and your family are adjusting.

3. VIEWING and ordering

Around 3-4 weeks after your session, I'll contact you to arrange the best time for you to view your photographs and order products. We can catch up virtually, or I can email your secure viewing gallery directly to you.

I also offer a free design service so you’ll be able to visualise how your photographs will look displayed as various products. I'll be with you every step of the way to help you choose the right products for your family.

Ready to book or want to know more?

The best time to have me visit is when you feel ready. At the same time, I would recommend pencilling in a date with me while you are still pregnant, around the time of your 20-week scan, to ensure I’m available. If your baby has already arrived, I may be still be able to find a time that works, so do still get in touch.
