Recording little milestones {Wallington family and baby photographer}

Babies really do change and grow so quickly and in the blink of an eye your tiny newborn will suddenly be bounding off to pre-school. As parents we do a pretty good job of pulling out our phones to capture all the delicious stages of our children’s development but we’re rarely in the pictures ourselves. This is one of the reasons why this gorgeous 5 1/2 month old’s parents invited me to their Wallington home. I loved capturing these beautiful moments for them - the little fists in the mouth that accompany teething, the excitement of her emerging ability to sit, and importantly this little family together and so very much in love.

The photos are unbelievably beautiful. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience we will cherish these memories forever.

Why parents should be in newborn photos {Carshalton newborn and baby photographer}

Every so often parents-to-be will tell me they really only want photos of their newborn. They worry, especially mums, that they won’t be feeling or looking like their best selves, that they won’t have the energy to ‘get dressed up’ for photos, or that they’ll feel uncomfortable in front of a camera. I get it! I felt the same way after having my first baby but it really is worth having at least a few photos with you in them. In years to come you’ll want to remember what it felt like to be new parents, the enormous and indescribable love you had for your new baby, and the love you experienced for each other, knowing that you’d created this wonderful tiny human! And importantly, you’ll want to share these precious memories with your child.

In their pre-session questionnaire, these lovely Carshalton parents told me that they didn’t really want to be in the photos. Citing the reasons above, I managed to convince them to have just a few together! Part of my role as a photographer is to put you at ease and make the session as relaxed as possible. There’s no stiff posing and you don’t even have to look at the camera! All I do is make sure you’re in the best light and then click away from a few different (and flattering) angles while you get on with loving your little bundle. Oh and there’s no need to get dressed up - I’ll give you plenty of clothing advice with an emphasis on comfort.

So even if it’s just one or two, please make sure you’re in the frame when you have your newborn photos taken. I promise you won’t regret it!

Thank you so much for the photos they are beautiful and will make the memories of baby’s first weeks last forever. Thank you also for capturing our little family, you were right the family shot is amazing.

An at home baby and parents photography session {Baby photographer, Wallington}

I was delighted when these lovely new parents got in touch to request an at home photography session with their 7 week old baby boy. Having just moved into the area a couple of months beforehand, they were keen to capture some special memories of this new chapter in their lives.

At this age, babies start to become wondrously aware of their surroundings and just how much they are loved and this little one was no exception. It was so lovely to be able photograph the very special love and connection baby, mum and dad had developed in such a short time...
