The gift of memories {Baby and family photographer, Carshalton}

The only regret I have about the first years of both my daughters' lives is that we didn't invest in professional family photography. Like many busy mums, it just wasn't something I saw as a priority at the time. I didn't really know how to use a proper camera at that stage of my life and so I just snapped away on my phone with varying results! But I do think back now and wish that I had some really nice photos of myself and my husband with our daughters...(don't worry - I'm more than making up for it these days).

One of the many things I love about my photography journey is being able to capture beautiful memories for others and I'm so glad that a close relative of this gorgeous Carshalton family gifted a photography session to them. Tickles with mummy, kisses from daddy, those chubby little arms and legs, and just the pure joy of early family life is something they will now be able to look back on and cherish forever. Don't let these years pass you by! They're just too important not to capture.

Indoor and outdoor family photography session {Family photographer, Carshalton}

I love photographing families - both at home and outdoors - and so I was very happy to photograph this gorgeous little girl and her family in their Carshalton home followed by some fun with mum and dad at the park.

We started the session in the main bedroom where this incredibly cute little girl just made me melt! She was so happy for me photograph her as she played on the bed. After a more few shots in the nursery, where little one proudly showed me her standing skills, we went out to the garden where her parents and grandparents joined us.

While the family was getting ready to go to the park, I learned all about the city in China her grandparents had come from and despite my lack of Chinese language skills, I think I managed to understand that it was a beautiful place known for its magnificent gardens!

We ended the session with a trip to the local park where we had just enough time for before nap time for me to photograph little one and her parents enjoying some cuddles and bubbles.

I'm so glad I could capture some precious moments and lovely portraits for this family. Here are a few of my favourites.

Newborn, big sister and family photography session at home {Newborn and family photographer, Wallington}

I absolutely loved photographing this lovely family in their Wallington home. Big sister warmed to me almost immediately and really enjoyed showing me her selection of favourite soft toys. While mum was busy preparing baby for the shoot, we snuck in a few lovely shots with daddy before it was snack time for big sister.  Baby was really awake for a one week old - perhaps she knew it was a special occasion? We even had an impromptu visit from the family dog which resulted in some of my absolute favourite images from the session...
